I had a great time collaborating with Don Weigand on Cabin In The Woods. What a blast. The cabin referenced in the song was actually located a short distance behind my childhood home. Don and I began writing songs in that home. Here is an actual photo taken by Don of my shoes hanging down through the roof while I sit on the chimney top in the winter (circa 1987) . Studio Update – Boris Would Understand
Progress on the album, Marbles Considered Lost, has been fantastic! There are five separate projects in motion. I’m currently wrapping up the final touches on this instrumental: Boris Would Understand (referencing Boris Blank of Yello). A strange and wonderful song with plenty of twists and turns. I’m expecting to publish Boris along with Cabin In The Woods sometime in the next two weeks. The other projects in motion are: Magnitude (80% complete); a new version of an old song from the 1997 album Gyroscope, Monster (40% complete); a rock-driven story-style song, and The Cinderblock Boy (25% complete); a slow, emotional song about heartache.

Studio Update – Cabin In The Woods
I’m nearing the completion of the vocal recordings now. Excited to be heading into final production soon. This song has come together really well; great groove. An awesome way to kick off the new album. I’ll be working on a final mix over the next couple days. Don and I are finishing up a bridge/solo section, but after that it should be complete. More to come soon.

Studio Update – Marbles Considered Lost
The next chapter begins.
After a short period of downtime, I’ve been busy developing my next project. It is tentatively called, “Marbles Considered Lost“. A sarcastic jab at how crazy it is for me to be recording music that no one hears. I am currently wrapping up the guitars on the first song, “Cabin in the Woods”. It is a lighthearted daydream about visiting an abandoned cabin that I used to play in as a kid. The song is around 70% complete. I’ve also been assembling an instrumental called, “Boris Would Understand”, and re-building the sequencing for “Magnitude”, an old song from Gyroscope. A lot of things in motion.
I’ve also re-connected with my very best friend, and long-time writing partner, Don. I’m looking forward to his input and collaboration. This is going to be fun!
